Rogers Unveils New User-Friendly Website

Press Release

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08, is inviting citizens of Michigan's 8th Congressional District to take a tour of a new and improved website offering easier access to a broad spectrum of services, information, and assistance at www.mikerogers.house.gov.

Rogers launched the newly designed 24-hour on-line office for constituents today.

"Want to tour the U.S. Capitol building while visiting Washington, DC? You will find an on-line form for requesting the tour," Rogers said. "Need assistance with an agency dealing with Social Security, taxes, veterans' issues, immigration, health care, and dozens of other matters? The new website will help you find what you need.

"The new website is easier to use and features a wealth of information ranging from planning a trip to the nation's Capitol to finding job opportunities or resolving problems with federal agencies. There is a link to a comprehensive job resource web page, another to an informative and easy-to-use gasoline price web page, and important information on how to protect our children from dangerous internet predators."

Rogers said drop-down menus at the top of the site make it easy to navigate, including information on current action in Congress and legislative issues under consideration. The side-page links give short cuts to some of the most popular features, including requests for flags, Capitol tours, constituent services, or nominations to national military academies such as West Point or Annapolis.

The new website provides a search function to make access to specific information even easier and quicker, and constituents can sign up for regular email updates on matters of concern to Michigan's working families, their employers, and their communities.

A new YouTube connection features video links so more individuals can see Congress in action.

"With today's busy lives, Michigan's 8th District families need a website that provides timely, helpful answers," Rogers said. "That is the goal of the website, to make sure that constituents of the 8th district have user-friendly navigation tools and all the information they need regarding the legislative process, planning a trip to Washington, or finding out about current events impacting their lives every day.

"I encourage everyone to take a look at the new site, give it a trial run, and feel free to send an email letting us know what they think."
